BD&P has a wealth of experience litigating all types of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyright and confidential information. We also represent clients in anti-piracy, misleading advertising, competition, counterfeiting, internet, privacy and access to information disputes. Our IP litigators also benefit from having years of courtroom experience as general commercial litigators.  

The people on our team have technical backgrounds in chemistry, engineering, biology, computer science and biology, allowing us to bring a deeper insight to the technical areas of a dispute.  

We have experience representing businesses of all sizes, both Canadian and international, across a wide variety of industries, including the energy, telecommunications, food and agriculture, consumer products, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and life science sectors. We also have experience coordinating the Canadian aspects of multi-jurisdictional IP litigation.    

Our IP litigators have appeared before all levels of courts, including the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal of Canada, the Supreme Court of Canada, the provincial superior courts as well as regulatory bodies. We also handle proceedings before federal IP administrative boards such as the Trademarks Opposition Board, including expungement and opposition proceedings.
