Since joining BD&P, Hema has quickly become a vital asset to the Employment & Labour group.
"Before joining BD&P, Hema practiced for over 15 years at a major law firm in Calgary. Her deep expertise and knowledge in employment law, her integrity and her unwavering commitment to client service and support make Hema an ideal addition to our Partnership. Beyond her legal acumen, experience and skills, Hema is the ultimate team player, always supporting her colleagues and BD&P's clients. She is a tremendous asset to the BD&P Partnership." – Richard Steele, BD&P Partner and Employment & Labour business unit leader.

"I am pleased to welcome Kylan to the BD&P partnership. Kylan is a fantastic litigator—she is hard working, has a sharp legal mind and instincts well beyond her years. She is a practical problem solver, understands her client's business goals and aligns litigation strategies with them. Kylan also works tirelessly to mentor young advocates and contributes to numerous of BD&P's strategic initiatives. The litigation group and firm are stronger because of her." – Susan Fader, BD&P Partner and Litigation business unit Co-Leader.
Matt Kuhl joined BD&P in 2014 as a summer student. He has been a critical member of the team, with several years of experience providing legal advice on an array of commercial and general litigation matters, focusing on the construction and energy sectors. His experience also extends to commercial arbitration, mediation and pre-litigation strategic advice in a wide variety of legal and factual contexts.
"I am thrilled that Matt is joining the partnership at BD&P. Matt has a depth of experience in commercial litigation matters, with a particular specialty on trial advocacy. Matt is a trusted advisor to his clients, delivering practical advice approaching their disputes strategically. Matt is also a mentor and contributes to numerous firm initiatives, strengthening the litigation group and BD&P generally." – Andrew Sunter, BD&P Partner and Litigation business unit Co-Leader.
Tasha Wood joined BD&P as a summer student in 2013. She is a highly skilled lawyer specializing in energy law, with extensive experience in asset and share acquisitions and dispositions, royalty transactions, mergers and amalgamations. In addition to her professional achievements, Tasha is deeply committed to her community. She serves as a Director for the Wings of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, a Calgary-based charity that provides financial aid to low-income families affected by breast cancer.
"From the moment Tasha arrived at BD&P as a summer student in the summer of 2013, she immediately impressed with her quick mind, legal instincts and keen sense of the value of teamwork. Tasha has become an exceptional lawyer, and a vital member of not just the BD&P energy team, but of the firm as a whole. She has been considered a 'partner-in-training' since she started at BD&P and we couldn't be more delighted that she has now achieved that title. We are honoured that Tasha has chosen to practice at BD&P and thankful to know that BD&P's ongoing success is in such capable hands." – Carolyn Wright, BD&P Partner and Energy & Project Development business unit Leader.
