Tristan Bray
Articling student
Experience
Tristan graduated with a Juris Doctor and Master of Public Policy from the University of Calgary in 2024 and rejoins BD&P as an articling student after summering with the firm in 2023.
Prior to attending law school, Tristan enjoyed a career in government relations, public policy, and strategic communications, first as the Executive Director of a non-profit association in Halifax, and then as a Consultant in Calgary. Throughout his undergraduate degree in political science at the University of Calgary, Tristan was heavily engaged on campus, serving in leadership roles for numerous clubs and as the Vice President External of the Students' Union.
During law school and his masters Tristan volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada as a project leader for the Consent Project, educating junior high and high-school students about consent, sexual violence, and the criminal code. He also participated in two exchange programs: the Corporate Summer Law Institute, an intensive month-long program in London focused on cross-border financing and international corporate law, and a public policy program in Israel.
Born in Ottawa but raised in Calgary, on weekends you can usually find Tristan with his friends at a brewery or spending time with his parents in British Columbia. In his spare time, Tristan is keen on travelling, reading fantasy and science fiction novels, making cocktails, and attempting to stay fit at the gym.
